Maggie May

Meet Maggie May!! Labradoodle Mix Approx. 55 lbs. Approx. 1 1/2 yrs old Maggie May is a beautiful Lab/Poodle Mix who came to the rescue Heartworm positive from AL. She is currently undergoing her heartworm treatment and has 2 weeks left on her ‘crate rest’ before she can become fully active again. Maggie May is a sweet girl who loves people and does well with other dogs and cats. She is very active and will make a great family dog. Once she is done with her HW treatment, she would make a great running partner and loves playing. She still has a lot of young dog play left in her. Maggie May has gone through the majority of her HW treatment, but she is in need of a new family who will foster her for the remaining 2 weeks of her treatment and then adopt her once the 2 weeks are over. During these last 2 weeks of treatment, Maggie needs to be quiet and rest. After the 2 weeks are over, Maggie can resume normal dog activity. She will be retested for HW again in 6-8 months by the rescue and if positive, the rescue would again treat her. For more detailed information on the treatment or Maggie May’s current status, please email Tammy at [email protected] Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit...

Soldier

Meet Soldier! Chihuahua Terrier Mix Approx. 2 yrs old Soldier is a loving happy 2 year old Chihuahua Terrier mix. He is about 20 lbs, housebroken and crate trained. He loves his crate and is happy to sleep there at night. Soldier is very smart. He has already learned to ‘sit’ even though he is so excited he doesn’t usually stay sitting very long! He loves his toys and a good bone to gnaw on. He is submissive to bigger dogs at the dog park but isn’t afraid. He loves walks and being outside, but he is curious so you’ll need to tie him out or have a fence with no holes. He’ll chat with the neighbor dogs but otherwise doesn’t make much noise at all. With some training and confidence, Soldier will learn to stay ‘down’ and will be less mouthy. He does not bite, but he licks and explores with his mouth. He is friendly with men, women and children, but might best suited for a home with older children. When Soldier arrived to Safe Haven, he was Heartworm +. He has gone through his entire treatment and is now ready to find a family who will love him and treat him right! Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our...

They have two other dogs for me to play with and they even brought my sister, Kynlee, home with them to stay too! I weigh 60 pounds and am still growing! My foster mom says I am a gentle boy who loves to cuddle. But sometimes I don’t sit still for very long. I like to walk around and see what everyone else is up to. I am house broken and crate trained. I do very well in my crate and I sleep in there through the night. My foster mom says I am a chewer, but she puts a lot of toys throughout the house that I can chew. She says I am not aloud to chew the socks that I find. I also like to sneak my toys outside sometimes and hide them. But my foster mom has extras so I always have something to chew in the house. I also love to play tug with a rope with the other dogs or with a human. Meet Kaleb! Great Pyr/ Lab Mix 10 months old I get along well with other dogs, but I don’t know how I would act if I saw a kitty. I love walks! My...

Peanut

Hi, my name is Peanut. I am an 8-month old Hound Mix. I weigh about 40 pounds right now, but am hoping I grow into my long legs. I still act like I weigh 10 pounds. My foster family thinks I’m a little goofy when I get running too fast and slide sideways on the hardwood floors like a baby giraffe on an ice pond. Speaking of ponds, I keep having to be told to stay out of the pond in the back yard, but I just love water and it’s right there! I absolutely love playing with other dogs, kids and whoever else can keep up. I don’t mind the cats, even though I have a feeling they don’t like dogs very much. I walk great on a leash and am ready to go on long walks because being a hound, I was born to sniff around. Even though I like having everyone at home with me, I do fine being in a crate while the others go to work or school. I am still working on being housebroken, but am a very good listener and really smart, so I know it can’t be too difficult for me. I am an active, playful pup, but I do love to settle in for the night and snuggle. I am neutered and up to date on all my shots, so...
