Bean is a 4-month-old Lab mix currently weighing 22 pounds. He came up from TN a month ago and has really come into his own in his foster home. Don’t let the pictures be your deciding factor. He is the cutest puppy on the block just impossible to photograph. The second the camera comes out he gets excited and all you capture is a lot of blurry pictures of his nose. You have to meet him to really appreciate how amazing he is.

Bean is a little guy who can play with the big boys and still hold his own. He is vocal when playing with other dogs as he attempts to order them around. He is in a foster family with a larger dog and cats. He is definitely the instigator of mischief and keeps coming back for more even when his foster brother has put him in his place. He is the Chumbawamba of the dog world running around barking

” I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down”

Bean is just at the very end of his potty training journey. He is learning to go to the door when he needs to go out but if you ignore his pleas he may have an accident. He walks nicely on his leash and is happy meeting new people and pets on his way. His tiny tail goes a million miles an hour. He has shown us he is a great car companion. He curls up on the floor or an open seat and enjoys the ride.

Bean is currently living with young kids. He is playful and accepting of small hands wanting to pet him. It is important to remember that even though at times he acts like a much older dog sleeping by your side he is still a puppy and needs plenty of things to chew on and play time to keep him entertained. He is crate trained but prefers sleeping on his dog bed or a blanket by your bed. The best of both worlds you don’t have to get up at night but still get woken up with puppy kisses in the morning.
Bean will make a great family pet for someone looking for a puppy who is happy to be around his people or playing with his dog friends.

Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies.

Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a “teen” or adult dog.

Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details.
