Oliver
Lab/Hound mix
Currently 10 weeks
Currently 18lbs

Oliver is a playful, outgoing, cuddlebug. This pretty boy catches quite a bit of attention from people of all ages when he is out and about. He is extremely friendly and greets everyone with plenty of tail wags and kisses to go around.

Since he such a social puppy, Oliver also gets along with other dogs. He is eager to engage in playtime with them, whether it involves chasing, tugging, or wrestling.

Oliver is already learning how to walk on a leash and enjoys spending time exploring his surroundings. He will surely make you laugh as he runs after a pinecone, catches it, and drops it so you can kick it forward only to start the whole process all over again. He will also gladly romp in the yard with a ball while you tend to your flower beds or garden.

Oliver is easily motivated by food and will be easy to train. He is already learning how “sit” on command and responds to corrective cues like “drop it” and “no”. Oliver is mostly house broken, but needs to be let out frequently during the day since he is still young. He is also crate trained and is content to stay in there while you are away.

Oliver loves to pick things up and run with them. He has the soft lab mouth so he could easily be trained to fetch your paper for you. He is responsive to cues for dropping the item, but it would be beneficial if there were plenty of toys around to keep him busy. Like most Labs, Oliver has lots of energy and will do well with a family that is willing to keep him active and/or stimulated.

Once Oliver is ready to settle down, he really likes to indulge in some cuddle time with those he loves. He will gladly curl up on your lap or your chest if you let him. He will make a great couch companion as long as you are willing to share the popcorn.

Oliver will be a great family dog. With his winning personality and beautiful coat, he won’t last long. What are you waiting for?

Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies.

Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a “teen” or adult dog.

Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details.
